તેમના વિશે વિશેષ
- પાંચ વર્ષની ઉમ્મરથી જ હાર્મોનિયમ પર ‘ વૈષ્ણવજન’ વગાડતા.
- ગુજરાતી ચલચિત્ર ‘ લીલુડી ધરતી’માં શ્રી. પુરૂષોત્તમ ઉપાધ્યાય સાથે સંગીત આપ્યું. આ માટે શ્રેષ્ઠ સંગીતકારનો સહિયારો એવોર્ડ મળ્યો.
- ‘ઉપર ગગન વિશાળ’ અને ‘જેસલ તોરલ’માં ( પિતા સાથે) સહાયક સંગીત નિર્દેશક; જેમાં તેમને ઘણી લોકપ્રિયતા મળી
- ૧૯૭૬ – ‘લાખો ફુલાણી’ માં સ્વતંત્ર રીતે સંગીત નિર્દેશન; જેમાં પાર્શ્વગાયક શ્રી. પ્રફુલ્લ દવેએ ‘ મણિયારો તે હળુ હળુ..’ ગીત પહેલી જ વખત ફિલ્મમાં ગાયું.
- ગુજરાતી ફિલ્મોમાં આશા ભોંસલે, સુમન કલ્યાણપુર, મહેન્દ્ર કપુર, ભુપિન્દર, પ્રીતિ સાગર વિ. ના કંઠનો ઉપયોગ કર્યો.
- ‘પારકી થાપણ’નું ગીત ‘ દીકરી તો પારકી થાપણ કહેવાય’ – લતા મંગેશકરના કંઠે બહુ જ લોકપ્રિય થયું.
- ૧૯૮૧- કેતન મહેતા નિર્મિત ‘ ભવની ભવાઈ’ માં સંગીત નિર્દેશનને આંતર રાષ્ટ્રીય કક્ષાનું સન્માન મળ્યું.
- ૫૦૦થી વધારે ગુજરાતી ગીતોમાં સ્વરાંકન કરેલું છે.
- ૧૯૬૧ – અમદાવાદમાં શ્રી. રાસબિહારી અને શ્રીમતિ વિભા દેસાઈની સાથે ‘શ્રુતિ’ સંસ્થા શરૂ કરવામાં પાયાનું યોગદાન.
- એચ.એમ.વી. એ તેમના સંગીતની ‘શ્રવણ માધુરી’ અને ‘ સાગરનું સંગીત’ રેકર્ડ બહાર પાડી હતી.
- ૨૦૦૪ સુધીમાં ૧૦૦ થી વધારે ફિલ્મોમાં સંગીત આપ્યું.
- ગુજરાતી રાસ-ગરબાઓમાં નવા નવા સંગીત પ્રયોગો કરેલા છે.
- નૃત્યનાટિકાઓ, ટેલિવિઝન, લોકસંગીત, ભજન સંગીતમાં પણ બહોળું સંગીત પ્રદાન
- તેમનાં જાણીતાં આલ્બમો – જલારામની ઝુંપડી, ભજન અનમોલ, ગંગા સતીનાં ભજનો, કહત કબીર, જલારામ બાપાનું હાલરડું પ્રાચીન પ્રભાતિયાં, નોન સ્ટોપ ડાંડીયા-રાસ

We know Gaurang since Early 50’s. I was in the Group song “AME SHAMANE RAMANARA” Gaurang was playing Harmonium in 1959 when Sureshbhai Jani and our physics teacher Rasbhai composing and conducting Group song in Gujarat College came first in Gujarat University.Nandan Maheta was on Tabala and Harshida Yhakor was female singer.
Now Harshida Thakor – Raval wife of Janardan (Janubhai) Raval.
Add them too.

1) HMV’s EP record ” SAAGAR NUN SANGEET” ( released 1974/75 )– SUNG BY “SHRUTI”.
Both the songs “kaana maan paavana kahine chaalyo ” & “saagara nun sangeet ” were penned by his father P.Avinash Vyas & composed -arranged by Gaurang, himself a founder member of “SHRUTI”
2 ) HMV’s LP record ” SHRAVAN MAADHURI” ( released 1975/76 )- ALSO SUNG BY “SHRUTI” MEMBERS.
5 OF 10 SONGS WERE COMPOSED BY GAURANG & OTHER 5
BY MU.KSHEMU DIVATIA-(who too was a “SHRUTI “-member). BUT THE MUSICAL “ARRANGEMENTS” OF ALL THE 10 SONGS WERE GIVEN BY THE INIMITABLE GAURANG.
These 2 records were “apraapya” ( not available ) in the market FOR OVER 3 DECADES. ..Until a year ago; thanks to the intiring endeavours of SMRUTI
SODAGAR of “SAREGAMA” which realeased the 2-in-1 cd ” SAAGAR NUN SANGEET” ,now available in the market.
These 2 records are unique in that both were FIRST EVER produced under the HMV banner by a non-professional ( but all-proficient ! ) singers’ group called
” ‘SHRUTI’ AHMEDABAD ”
Secondly & more importantly, ALL these 12 songs, from initial selection to the final recording were totally superwised/guided by the all-time maestro HRIDAYNATH MANGESHKAR, The 1st of the 2 (EP) was released at the august hands of none other than the Great P.LATAJI herself.
